Mission

Project Arkifish is the first ever student-run project in the Interlochen Center for the Arts' Archival Resource Treasury and aims to make a curation of Interlochen's archival resources accessible digitally. We want Project Arkifish to capture the social legacy and artistic heritage of Interlochen and examine how the institution has grown and changed over the years.

We want this website to be a resource for artists around the world, staff and faculty of Interlochen, alumni, and current and former students and campers. By providing access to these materials, we hope to inspire and educate the next generation of artists, historians, and creative thinkers. We hope to inspire conversation about Interlochen’s rich history in the arts and create room for artists to look toward the future.

To achieve this goal, we plan to digitize some of the materials in the archives for preservation and ease of access, create an online catalog of the archives' materials, preserve the stories of people whose lives have been touched by Interlochen, and develop online exhibits and educational resources.
